status indicator does not light up in T30

#1 Post by wang960 » Mon Apr 09, 2007 11:02 pm

Hi,

My T30 has this problem, when power on, only the power indicator lights up, but not booting, had to tried many times before it can boot. tired of this problem, I got a mainbord from ebay and replaced it myself:

first try, same problem, only power indicator was on all others none, but charging indicator was also on. I tried to disassemble and assemble again, this time computer boots normally, but all the indicator is off, the status indicator, charging indicator, everything, it just works but no indicator at all. i tried several time disassembling/assembling(almost become an expert:(), the indicators simply not on, but unit works normally. if I put back my original mainboard, all the indicators are working, but just not booting.

Any ideas what I did wrong? Thanks.

One of two things I can think of, either the new mainboard is not sending the signal to the indicator lighters, or there is something wrong with the connection to the indicator lights. I have heard of others having this problem, but the computer is working without the lights working, and you need to use it, then I wouldn't bother trying to fix it. It will get annoying not knowing if your battery is charged or not .
I have finally rejoined the dark side.
