Problematic DVD burner on T60

I'm wondering if it was just a coincidence because my wife and my T60 DVD drives broke down within a year of regular use. We rarely watch movies on our PCs and we use the drives mainly for installing software. My wife burns DVDs and CDRs but very occasionally.

I have 2 other T60's in the office being used by my senior staff but both of them have DVD/CD combo drives without any problems. Did anyone have the same problems on their DVD burners?

On the positive side, I called up the local Lenovo/IBM service hotline to report my case and by the next business day, a courier came to bring our replacement DVD drives. Now that's what I call fast service! Can't expect that from any other brand in this market!!!
