T60p Sleeve Recommendation

#1 Post by yue2007 » Tue Apr 10, 2007 1:45 pm

Hi all,

Newbie here. I have recently purchased a T60p 14" and was wondering if you guys could recommend a sleeve that fits this notebook. I'm currently using a sleeve from my other laptop and it's a bit tight and I definitely don't want to ruin the corners/edges of the T60p.

Thanks

Definitely check out http://www.booqbags.com

I have never ever seen a case that comes close to the design and workmanship of these bags with sleeves as part of a system.

Any know if I should get a sleeve that's 15" so it's not too tight?

I second the booq bags. I currently use the 14" XM series, and it is nearly a perfect fit...it is a bit tall, but I use a foam/plastic laptop tray which takes up about an 1/8" of space to give a nice fit.

I'll be ordering from waterfield (sfbags) tomorrow. I've received recommendations for them from numerous sources and the multitude of sizes gives me the impression that they'll make sure it fits. I like the fact that the sleeve can also be used on it's own with a strap and piggyback when I don't want to carry my existing bag around.

Worst case give them a call if you have questions.

i would definitely recommend the waterfield setup if you're on a higher budget. I wanted something that wasn't to bulky, and unique. I don't know why, but i decided to order this sleeve from foof because the looks just really appealed to me.:

you can find it here:

I got the "It's not easy being green"

Size: 14" Apple ibook.

This fit my 14" T60 like a glove! that was one of the things that was really important to me. And what's more, I stuck my 9-cell in and it just barely, but smoothly slides in as well! I am stoked, and the quality is just awesome, the corduroy exterior and the inside liner are both topnotch. So, I reccomend their sleeves, just make sure you get the correct 14" ibook size.

It depends on your battery. If you have a 9 cell I'd say get the 15", otherwise a 6-cell will fit nicely in a 14". That is my one complaint with the 9 cells, it's hard to find sleeves that fit.[/list]

This has been discussed ad infinitium. The best thread on sleeves is this:

Archer6 is the best source on the forum for info bags/sleeves :) He has given some excellent comments and reviews on the above thread.

Got my WF sleeve in yesterday and it certainly doesn't disappoint. Fits perfect and you really can't beat the strap+piggyback.

Guess it's time to save up for one of their cargo bags. :)

great post and links.
Can somone direct me to a thread about backpacks..
I want to get a backpack for my T60P 14.1
I want it to be a nice snug fit and not too loose.

Something I can bring to work that looks not too formal and not too casual backpack for my notebook.
Thanks guys!

You really should try to do a search before asking someone to do it for you. Search for keyword=backpack, forum=ThinkPad T60 Series, display=Posts or Threads.

Here is one to get you started:

What else do you lug around with you and your TPad every day? I carry a lot of photo gear on many occasions so I use one pack for that. If it's a no shoot trip I slim it down to save the back.

The amount of padding that you're comfortable with makes a difference as well.

I use and like packs from LowePro, Kata and Tom Bihn for different purposes. I have a couple of Crumpler bags that I use on occasion as they're really flexible when traveling.

Whatever course you take work with a shop that has customer focused return policies. These guys http://www.theadventuresource.com are great to deal with.
T'Pad 600e, 770x, A20p, A21p, A30p, A31p (2653-H3U), T43p (2668-Q2U) & T60p (2623-DDU)...it's an addiction.

whenever I bring my laptop around, I use the Attache leather bag. It has padding everywhere around the laptop, plus room for books, papers, notebooks, and the occasional sandwich :) . I love that case.
