Thinkpad 770 boot up error message

#1 Post by spacebass » Fri Apr 13, 2007 8:38 pm

Hi Guys & gals,

First post thank you for having me, I have a thinkpad 240 which I love and will be researching this on your site next (and redo signature) but for now my question is this, I have the offer of a 770 but the guy says that he has had it in storage for a while and when he checked it it booted to a blue screen with 'Error' in big letters on it it appears that this may be error message 'msg 4014-117647069 7' which I have looked for on ibm site but so many answers on search gave up.

Error message has the image of a hand with a 'no entry sign' on top.

He says battery kaput but worked OK on power supply before.

I have a proficient computer engineer at my disposal, so would this error message be surmountable? Any hints guidelines?

Thank you in advance
