Hi.
I have a brand new Z61m 9450 HAG (got it yesterday), running Win XP Pro.
I set up fingerprint authentication and it worked as advertised - after enrolling with my fingerprints, the first time I logged in I had to enter my passwod. After that, all I had to do to log in was use my fingerprint (no password required).
After that, I applied all the latest updates from Lenovo (using ThinkVantage Update) and since then, I'm always required to enter my password after entering my fingerprint. I've tried deleting my prints from the system and enrolling them again, but the login authentication system still insists that I type in my password every time.
Can anyone help with this problem?
Thanks.
Fingerprint logon still asks for password.
Please see my post (#4) in this thread:

This procedure worked on my T43. I cannot guarantee it will work on your Z series unit.

I have the same issue. I have the security chip activated and use CSS 7.
I am asked for my secure (CSS) password after swiping for a Windows login. As required by CSS, my "secure" password is different than my Windows login.. does it need the second password because of the secure drive/etc?
The linked thread above discusses a complete uninstall-disable-reinstall of CSS and fingerprints in BIOS, but I've got a fresh install from Lenovo Product Recovery discs..
Anyone found a way around this dual-windows-login? Is it supposed to happen?
