New X40 - clicking noise

#1 Post by mattfromomaha » Sat Oct 02, 2004 9:27 am

I just took a brand new 2386-6UU out of the box. As I was drooling (not on it), I noticed that as the notebook is moved/rotated around there's a clicking sound inside it, near the PCMCIA card area, I believe. Almost sounds like something in there is a little loose. I'm going to take off the keyboard later today when I have a screwdriver set and take a look, but has anyone else experienced this before?

Not sure if it runs okay or not - I'm not going to boot it up until I decide if I'm keeping it or reselling it...

Thanks!
Matt

The clicking noise seems to be normal. It stops when a PC-Card is inserted.
