T23/wifi card/PCI Bus Power Management

#1 Post by tdukes » Sat Oct 02, 2004 11:18 am

I received my T23 (2648-4PU, 512mg, 40g) yesterday. Woohoo! It's an upgrade work pc from my trusty 600X (2645-5EU, 576mg, 40g). All is well except for some glitches with a Netgear WG511 pccard and stand by. I've never had this problem with the 600 and a MA401 wifi card. I've searched here, IBM, and Netgear and have tried different versions of Ng's software. Seems that the issue is the card & the TI PCI-1420 bus controller. Ng recommends disabling bus power management. What are potential side effects of this? Do this or get another wifi card? Seems others have had similar issues with other cards. Update bios from the current 1AET58WW (1.14a) level? Both boxes are win2k sp4.

Thanks,
Troy
