create backup of Vista express upgrade disc?

#1 Post by npish » Mon Apr 16, 2007 5:42 am

just curious if it's possible to make a backup copy of the Vista express upgrade disc, as I like to backup all of my software; tried a "copy disc" in Nero, and it prompted me to insert a non-blank disc--presumably it's protected somehow....

figure I could also just copy the files manually from the DVD, and make a new disc, but then it wouldn't be bootable, I assume....

anyone attempt to make a backup or know how it could be achieved?

I'm assuming this is a Vista Upgrade dvd from Moduslink. You should have no problem copying it with Nero. Be sure you're selecting dvd not cd in Nero.

boy, I'm a jackass...thanks steveg47; I was, in fact, in cd mode within disc copy; just jumped to the conclusion that it was protected somehow; thanks!

Your welcome. You'd think Nero would be intelligent enough to determine the media type by looking at the source for the copy.
