I'm not sure what's the feature called, but until few days I could use my thumb on the center button and use the joystick to pagescroll the window. It worked perfectly (didn't work i remote desktops though). I guess it was Thinkpad managed scrolling.
Since yesterday the behavior has changed and I think it's not Thinkpad managed any more and it reacts differently (impossible to use since you have to "aim" for scrolling to stop. Now - when I press the center button I get the scroll-cursor displayed.
Does anyone have a clue what I'm talking about and an idea how to get the old behavior to work again?
Scrolling gone wild
For some reason the selection for the middle ultranav button changed from "scrolling" to "neither". You can change it back by going to mouse properties in the control panel and navigating to the trackpoint option. From there select "scrolling" for the middle ultranav button.
At least that is my best guess as to what is going on with your middle button.
