Programmer plz help: asp.net 2.0 file download

This' in asp.net 2.0 c#

3 questions:

1. How to ignore case in xml/xsl for validating a string?

2. How to create a select-unselect all XML/xsl button that will select/unselect all checkboxes in a xml/xsl page?

3. Is there a way to code a hyperlink to a pdf that will open it for viewing but the document will then be auto. deleted if it's closed?

Or how to specify the document to be downloaded to a specific path only (ex: the browser' cache) as viewing (not like in OS X if we click on a pdf link it download the file auto. to desktop then view it, and still leave it there on desktop when things' closed, which is annoying if the users just browse through the document but not actually want to save it, unless they "save as.." by themselves).

I believe the user can do this by changing the settings in the browser themselves but is there a way to code this in the site in default (ex: for security purposes etc.)
