New install thinkpad t40 now wireless intel/pro card 2100

He everybody .

I have a problem some one gave me a thinkpad t40 .
Windows xp whas on it but i wanned to try linux .
I used kubuntu because of the wireless lan is easy to get it going .
But i did not realise that i had no cd or recovery partition .
Luckely i had ritten down the key of xp .
Now fres install with a copy from a friend xp is up and running .
But my intel/pro wireless card is now where to be found i instalt al the drivers and every thing but now wireless card .
Does somebody know of this problem and can help me .

in the device manager, do any unrecognized devices show up? does the card appear under network adapters?

You should make sure the wireless LAN MINI PCI card is ON in BIOS.
Power on you ThinkPad. when you see the color IBM logo on booting, press F1 key to go into BIOS. And check it out.

under device manager manager i don't see it i'm not sure if there are
unnone devices .
And i'm going to look in my bios whits sub menu do i need to go to to see it .

Ive lookt in my bios but can not find it and the only driver i don't have is Network controller i don't know ware i can get it .
Under device manager / networkadapters it's not there .
I installed the drivers for this card but it's no good

Did the wireless card work before you installed Linux?
