Thinkpad warranty doesnt cover LCD?

i sent in my computer because it had bright spots and then i got a call from them today saying it wasnt covered under warranty and itll cost 1200 to fix?

if IBM doesnt cover it who does then? :cry:

Backlight bleeding through? If that's the case, it seems like they should cover it. If they're pressure marks, no, and if it's dead pixels, only if there are more than 8...or a dozen I think, depending on size/resolution.

I think the person that called me wasnt very informed

they made it sound liek LCD was not under warranty , under any circumstance unless i have the extended warranty

but i think what was really going on was that the spots were fro pressure and she meant that, it would be covered under the extneded warranty and not the normal one as its from physical damage

ah well
i guess its not that annoying
