Another endorsement for Arctic Silver 5

#1 Post by Habskilla » Thu Apr 19, 2007 4:58 pm

WOW does that stuff ever work!

If you want your laptop to run cooler, then apply Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste.

If you're wondering, I had it professionally applied. I'm all thumbs and scared as heck to take apart my laptop.

My laptop runs hot and the heat sink get noisy
if I maximize the perfomance of my CPU
using thinkvantage power management.
then I slow down the CPU into low level.

will it damage the CPU of my laptop?

I hope not! This is just an improved thermal paste.

I had to order it through the internet. If you go to their website, they have a listing of all their dealers http://www.arcticsilver.com/dealers_and ... butors.htm. There's is even a dealer in your country, http://www.lini.co.id/

An hour of playing Serious Sam II.
Before:
The CPU temp would be in the high 50's, low 60's.
Now:
Has not broken 50.

Hai, I tried it, and the seller said that they only sell
ArcticSilver5 to the reseller. And I have to order in the huge
quantities.

I tried AS 5 over the weekend and noticed a big difference. Temp would reach the upper 60's before and now stay in the lower 50's. Idle temps are about the same.

I don't know if it would void the warranty. I just took the plunge.
