Will Thinkpads come in different colors?

It's possible and I won't be surprised. What do you think?

They already do now. The Titanium lids in Z series and 3000 Family notebooks. Other than that, I won't be surprised either if they release one with another color.

Thank you!

3000 Family notebooks are a separate line of strictly lenovo brand.

Not forgeting the old i-series which had silver/grey painted lids. (IMO the worst ever notebooks to come out of the IBM stable)

That Acer outsourcing goes through the 390s and then on to the early Rs (through R40s I think). A tell-tale sign is the A/C plug on the right instead of the left even though the battery wasn't back there.

I'm also not too found of the other outsource G models that came from Quanta (the main supplier to Dell) which probably explains why those things were so big and heavy (literal desktop replacements)!
Family Daily Drivers- T430s, T530, X220
Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP ProDesk SFF drone machines :(
Other Projects- Edge 15, Z61m (Titanium)
Historic Retired ThinkPads- T42p, X20, A31p, 701c, 760XD, WorkPad C505

Some of the i series actually had removal lids and you could change them to numerous different colours - It was not successful, if you try and make a thinkpad look fashionable then it just looks tacky - black has made a big comeback in the gadget world recently anyway.

I think you might see a brown ThinkPad soon but you didn't hear it from me

Not so much a specific color but I want my next ThinkPad to have the same decorative outside design as one of my old Trapper Keepers from middle school.

I want thinkpads to remain black. Forever. As long as the product line exists, it should be black.

It's those annoying people with garishly painted / colored / stickered laptops that make me cringe. Style canbe done right, but this is IBM (Well, not anymore). Black.

Black.

Black.

That is all.
New:
Thinkpad T430s 8GB DDR3, 1600x900, 128GB + 250GB SSD's, etc.

My ex-girlfriend used to be wife had a pink colored sony notebook, which I hated from the deepest core of my heart. So girly!

Thinkpads should only come in Black.

I would welcome another color than black only.

Actually, I see some great possibilities for business colors:

- a nice very-dark-green with some fine gold rims
- dark antrazit-power-black with chrome fittings
- camouflage satin-pearl-white
- antarctic blizzard white

what about this
- dark lapislasuli metallic blue, looks nice too...

o.k. I put this Aston Martin brochure away :-)

Nice!

But you cannot display a pic in the forum without a prior warning as per forum rules.

The colorware ThinkPads just look a mess with all the screw caps, status labels, touchpad, keyboard and logo all still in black, they're colouring works well on some products like the macbook but not on a ThinkPad.

Other colours will only be done if they emphasise the use of quality materials (such as the 'titanium' cover on Z series), on that note, heres my obscure hint of the day:

Well when I first read this about colored ThinkPads my first thought was: NO way! Leave it alone! Leave it Black!

But I just saw the Photos of the coulored T60s on Colorware and I must say I really do like the contrast of black and orange(yellow).

BTW: My desktop is yellow/black and I was about to paint my old FSC notebook yellow/black, but I bought a TP, so im sort of biased. :)
