X60 Warranty upgrade...EZ Service or On-site?

#1 Post by nowstime » Mon Apr 23, 2007 3:20 pm

Hi~

My X60's one year warranty is expiring pretty soon and thinking about getting an upgrade.

Currently I have the EZservice but I'm hearing so many bad stuff regarding Lenovo's EZservice so I'm wondering if I should get the on-site service.

My questions are;
1. Is on-site worth than EZservice? For a two year upgrade (2 years but Lenovo calls it the 3 year service), EZservice is $119 and Onsite is $219. I was told I can do get an American Express discount however, I would have to pay tax.

2. With the EZservice, can I take it to my local Lenovo authorized service center, instead of mailing it in where it seems like most of the service problems occur?

I have had 5 Thinkpads so far, but never had to send it for service...that's why I have no idea about warranty...

Any advise will help...

Best,

Have you priced how much accident protection would cost? EZServe along with accident protection may be a more value-added combination than just onsite warranty service...
