Warranty against dead pixel

Does the basic warranty that comes with a T42 covers dead pixels?

no, unless you get many (8?) per IBM policy

For a small fee (50-100) you can get the vendor to check them before shipping you unit to ensure there are no dead pixels. Thats what I did.

It seems like they could always appear later though...

Also, if you get it from IBM, you have that 30 day return period.

Does the 30 day return policy apply if the box is opened?
