Catalyst 7.4 runs fine in Vista (T60)

I have a T60 (8744-HDG) w. X1400 in 15.4" 1680x1050 and I've been suffering from some screen flickering etc minor but disturbing issues. (Running Vista Business). Today I saw some info of DriverHeaven's site of their Mobility Modder i remember using back in the days. (Or perhaps it was something else similar)

Anyway, installed 7.4's and ran some benchies, no bigger differences in performance, perhaps a point more there and there. The main thing, no problem's in display flickering, AA messing up (discoloring), no strange stalls in the middle of games or benchies, not a one bug so far.

Footnote: After finally getting the TpFanCtrl to work (as a service) to my liking, and putting in the extra 1Gb memory, well, now this black laptop is just getting deeper in my hearts

Thanks! I googled MobilityModder a couple days ago and only found the old version for XP.

I'm glad they put out a Vista release as I too am tired of v7.1.

there is a new driver for FireGL5200 in ATI's website, you think that will work with the 5250?

It works great on my z60m X600 and using 7.4 addresses all my driver issues.

excellent, i might have to try get the 7.4's modded, its weird why ati mobility cards arent supported in vista, whereas XP drivers still support them.

I tried to update the driver, but my screen is still flickering at random times in Windows Vista.

I have a ThinkPad T60 with 15.4" widescreen, ATI Radeon X1400 video card.
