Bluetooth Problems with Scala 700 Headset

Friends,

Having troubles pairing the Scala 700 headset with my T42 for the purposes of using Skype. I have IBM Bluetooth III installed and running (been using a BT mouse for years), and I can see the Headset in My Bluetooth Places, but after the initial (successful) connection, the Headset disconnects. I also suspect that the two devices (the mouse and the headset) are conflicting, because the mouse acts up when the headset is connected. How do I troubleshoot this, and what do I look for?
