Thinkpad T21 - how to charge battery 2

I have just bought the additonal battery that fits into the 'hot swap cd drive bay'.

However, the only way that i've worked out how to charge it - is to removee the main battery first.

I assume there is an easier way to do this - but maybe not?

I really dont want to have to buy any more hardware, but find it hard to believe you have to remove the main battery, every time you want to do this?

Any help appreciated.

it should charge them both in order, the main first and then the spare. is your main battery at 100% when you're trying to charge the ultrabay battery?

Thanks - yets it does charge when the first battery is 100%.

Guess i was being a bit impatient!
