FS: *Sold* Thinkpad Lot (4 Laptops )

#1 Post by RoxyRose » Fri Apr 27, 2007 10:38 am

Hi,

1) Thinkpad A20m- cracked screen, *barebones, missing memory cover, hard drive caddy/cover, good condition overall

2) Thinkpad 570- cracked screen, *barebones, cosmetically fair, missing key (may need keyboard replaced) and nub, hard drive caddy/cover

3)Thinkpad 760el- intact screen, but starts up with stripes (external monitor looks good), boots to windows, has hard drive & ram, no cd drive, battery does not work , top case has a large crack in it

4)Thinkpad 9545 (750 series)- broken screen, has hard drive, ram, battery & floopy

4a)Port Replicator for above two 700 series thinkpads, works, allows the laptop to be powered on with standard power cord

All boot to Bios with proper accessories.

*Barebones means no hard drive, ram, AC adapter, battery, or optical drive

I am looking for $65 plus $15 ship for all.

Sorry to hear about this, but please expand on the circumstances so others (like me) don't do the same!

Thanks and good luck with the sale. The drive and LCD should be worth the price by themselves.

Hi, I have short-circuited (with sparks) ThinkPad motherboards before (by antenna leads or whatever metal parts). For me, it seems that no matter what I did, I wasn't able to fry it. You could try reseating the CMOS and main batteries and try powering it up again? Who knows, it might come back to life.

I have a fantastic barebones T41 for sale:

However, this is my friend's laptop and he needs the $$s to pay his bills ... if you want to buy a T41, let me know. Good luck selling these parts!

Did you pick all of these up with broken LCDs? I have never seen someone have so many spare Thinkpads, and all of them had broken LCDs.

I had bought a large lot of older Thinkpads last year. I actually sold a working 390x, 600x, and a parts A20m on the forum here with great success. I never got around to fixing these that are left. I know I saw an A20 screen with shipping for under $35, so I was tempted to rebuild it, but I don't have the time. I am in need of a system for my job I am just starting tomorrow.

What is the model number on the 760EL (e.g. 6547-???)? How much or what would you want for it?

What size screen is on the A20m? Does it have battery? What speed is it's CPU?

Probably not helpful, but I would love the comma key (or any letter even) from the toasted 570 keyboard.
