blue screens, turn offs, lots of prob on t60p wide and norma
Anyone have unusual amount of problems with t60's? I have my CIO's nb which has been back for problems with warped bottom and memory was replaced, drivers updated and bios yet still either turns off when docked or blue screens or sometimes the wireless does not work. We have similar issue with brand new wide 15" model. We have even had specialist from lenovo out for 2 days. I never had issue with XP Pro or Vista now (at least nothing out of the ordinary). Any others with odd problems. We have 50+ T60's and i'm afraid to get another at this point
My T60 with Vista has been unusually unreliable. I've had at least a dozen BSOD's and a variety of peculiar problems. For example, I used Vista's System Restore to restore from a checkpoint, was greeted on reboot with a dialog stating the restore was not completely successful. After that, all my previous checkpoints disappeared.
I installed a laptop holder meant to raise the screen which my boss provided me with. The thing had a lot more features than I wanted, including a USB network adapter, but against my better judgment I installed everything anyway. Neither the USB network adapter nor the built-in one worked after that, which is why I ran the restore.
Since then I've been having the strangest network problem I've ever seen: if I connect my T60 directly to the Ethernet port in the wall, its network seems to work fine, but if I interpose a switch (and I've tried two different switches with different cables), it becomes extremely slow and flaky.
I am running one very suspect bit of software, though, the Novell "technology demonstration" (not even beta) client for Netware. Someday Novell promises they'll release a proper client, but meanwhile this is the best I can do to connect to my company's Netware 6.5 network.
Let's see, other signs of instability:
* the Touchpoint driver frequently quits working when I wake the computer up from sleep mode -- the mouse still works but the scrollwheel emulator gives up
* the Thinkpad Security Center forgot all my passwords
* ThinkVantage Access Connections dies every day or two
* And did I mention the frequent Blue Screens of Death?
I'm hoping things will improve as drivers catch up with Vista, but so far I'm really disappointed.

Anyone have unusual amount of problems with t60's?
