No Graphics card cooling system on the T23 ?

#1 Post by WarMachine » Sun Apr 29, 2007 10:23 am

Hello everybody ! :)

I haven't post since several weeks, 'cause I've a lot of work... I'm so sorry, Thinkpads is such a nice forum...

However, I don't forget that it exists, and that I can find everything I want about our favorite laptops... :)

A little question today :

Yep, you can read it in the subject, isn't that strange not to find a cooling system on the graphics card of the T23 ?

I haven't tried yet to monitor the temperatures, and I use my TP to watch films, listen to music, and surf, and there is no problem, but those of you who use the TP more intensively, did you encountered problems related to the Savage chip ?

Would it be possible to stick a rad on it ?

Any ideas ?

Thank you ! :)

There is no need to put extra cooling on the graphics card. It is only 16MB and does never get hot. If anything gets hot, it's the CPU. Provided proper thermal paste has been applied between CPU and cooler (Arctic Silver comes highly recommended), and the FAN is free of 'dust bunnies' there should not be anything to worry about.

Run TPFancontrol. T23 is the only T2X that can use it.
