I'm having good wireless connectivity just using the Vista driver with my atheros card in my t60, are you having problems on a specific network or any wireless points in general.?

Before I upgraded to vista my range went a lot further. I was able to access two of my neighbors internet connections from most of my house. The strongest signal being in my living room. Now I can barely connect and when I do it drops signal within minutes. Any idea's??

I believe the latest Atheros driver can be obtained via Windows update.

If you are using Access Connections be sure to upgrade to the latest version which I think is 4.31b

also if you are using access connections try not using it, removing it completely, I've never used the software in any OS or thinkpad.

After I installed vista on my T60, I was also having problems with the wireless networking: Lost connections; unable to reconnect even though signal strength was good; and the signal strength icon had never reached "excellent" even if the laptop was sitting next to my router.

I was using Lenovo's Atheros driver that was downloaded through System Update 3. Never tried AC in Vista since I don't have any good impression on its XP version.

I knew there was an updated Atheros driver from Microsoft, but I was reluctant to install it. But yesterday I was really [censored] off by the lost signal so I downloaded the MS driver, which was released around 4/10/07 with a version number of 7.2.0.204 (or 240; not really sure). After that, I haven't experienced any problems yet. No lost connections and the signal strength status box finally showed "excellent"... So, maybe you can give it a try.

Thanks Kyocera, I probably should have mentioned that I am not using access connections.

I will check tomorrow at work to see if there is a Microsoft update for the Atheros but last I checked I don't believe there was one :(.

I just got my t60p with Vista Premium preloaded and my Atheros ABGN could not get get full bar reception (i t would only go 2 bars) when my router was just 5 feet away.

I went to the device manager, updated the atheros card using the 'let windows search for driver over the internet option'. It saw a new driver dated 4-15-07. Big difference. My wifi can now connect full bars anywhere in my house.

With that said, you might want to do what i did and let windows search for a new driver for your appropriate atheros card.
