Windows on MacBook problem

My friend told me he got a new Macbook and put Windows on it, I forgot to ask which Windows (XP or Vista?), but he couldn't the use touchpad while using Windows on it, not sure if this is common?

Is the Macbook 1-button mouse actually a 2-button mouse which can do a right click (like the new apple desktop mouse in MacOSX) ?

@spt60: I'm a little confused, do you mean your friend couldn't use the touchpad at all on windows or just the right click? (which he might "not be able" to work without)

Hey thank you for your helpful catch . Now I realize there was a bit confusing there. He said he can't even use the touchpad in Windows (on his Macbook), he's having to use a mouse at the moment.

The next question in the op was for myself: I believe the Macbook has one mouse button (compare to pc laptop has 2 buttons), but is it actually a 2-button like the new usb desktop Mac mouse, which looks like a regular 1-button mouse but you can actually right click on it, inteads of having to press the ctrl key and click like the old way.

The tip is nice too.

I don't directly know what the problem might be. Is he using (the latest version of) bootcamp? (as that includes drivers etc. as far as I know)
Maybe not important when it doesn't work at all, but I somewhere read that ticking the touchpad doesn't work as a click in windows, so you would need to use the button.

As to the hardware: it's still just one button, but in OS X, ticking the touchpad with 2 fingers (or 2 fingers on the touchpad and clicking the button) acts as right click which is handy in my opinion. (however it doesn't beat the thinkpad's trackpoint)

That usb mac mouse is kind of special too. When you press the mouse with your whole hand, it takes that as a left click. This feels really comfortable. However, when you want to right click you need to lift up the left finger or it will also take the right click as a left click (there's some sensor to check if you left finger is on the mouse). I found this annoying in the beginning and even thought of bringing the mouse back, but in the end you get used to it (and even start to like it).
