Thease older systems only have 2.5meg video ram.Not much.
What older games do you play on you system?
Say a P-III 500mhz ish system?
Something you could run from the hard drive.Eather download froo games from the net, ect.
Just want to get some ideas and things to put on my 570E for a upcoming trip.

Well, I'm old, so I play video games from the 80s using M.A.M.E. (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator). Mostly Joust, Donkey Kong, PacMan, Asteroids, and the like.SaberX wrote:Thease older systems only have 2.5meg video ram.Not much.

Thinkpads (in order of use): Thinkpad 10 tablet/Transnote/701C
I've got DOOM on my 701C. Playing DOOM on the 701 back in 1995 was the first time I'd seen the game in color or with sound. My previous Thinkpad was a 355 with monochrome display and wasn't Soundblaster compatible.spalen wrote:Quake / Doom / Castle Wolfenstein should work.
Counter Strike should work
I cant test because Im just rebuilding my 570e for my son to use for just this purposewhen its up and working I shall advise

Hello,
Every game older than Quake Classic (1995) should run on your machine.
I've even successfully played Quake II on the 600E (a little choppy, but playable (of course w/out Open GL acceleration...
)
I've played Carmageddon too (the 1st one). What a blast !!!
Also Dune, Dune II, DOTT (Day Of Tentacle), RAMA... And others I don't remember (Yeah, I'm an old man too ! 32 y.o. in 3 weeks)...

Some games that work on my 600E:
Daytona USA
Destruction Derby
Half Life
Shadow Warrior (be sure to get the updated engine)
Duke Nukem 3D (be sure to get the updated engine)
ZSNES (SNES Emulator)
Gems (Genesis/Mega Drive emulator)
Simcity 2000
Need for Speed 4 High Stakes (NFS 3 only allow 320x240 without 3d acceleration, NFS4 allows 640x480 so it looks fine give the limitations)
Gran Theft Auto
Gran Theft Auto: London 1969
There's a few a can't remember right now, I'll update later. Just look for some abandonware websites, you'll find some fun games. Of course graphics is not as today's games (I have a GefForce 6800xt on my desktop) but you can defintally have some fun. I even bought a Playstation-style USB joypad to play with my 9-yo brother-in-law and preserve the keyboard. I suspect it's possible also to play Playstation 1 using Bleem! emulator (which minimmal specs were a 166MMX pentium) but I don't have Playstation CDs to try.
