X60 Tablet's NavDial

Hi owners of Thinkpad X60 Tablet,

I am considering getting a MultiTouch / non-MultiTouch Tablet
I am sick of having to use my stylus every time when I work in the tablet mode; currently the NavDial can work as a scrolling device, but if it is modified (or there is a setting option) so that it can act as another Trackpoint like pointing device then I will get the SXGA+ non-MultiTouch Tablet...

Does the NavDial only serve a scrolling function?

one way is to turn on mousekey in ease of access center and configure the navdial to press the corresponding num pad key.
