Fan Whine T60

This doesn't have to do with the loudness of the fan on my T60. It has to do with a high pitch whine that it makes whenever it is on. I have a T60p 15" Flexview. Whenever the fan comes on I get this high pitch whining coming from what seems to be the fan. I also had a T60 WS a couple months ago that did the same thing. TP Fan Control doesn't help this problem because it doesn't have to do with the fan running too fast. The fan RPMs usually stay pretty low but this whining noise is irritating, especially when I spent close to $2k on this machine. Is this a common problem or is it just that both T60s I had were defective? If so will a new fan fix this problem or is there another fix? Could the fan be rubbing on something? I hope to hear from other T60 owners that have or don't have this problem.

Also, I have dealt with the CPU whine problem before and I do not believe this is coming from the CPU. It sounds like it is directly coming from the fan. It only makes this noise when the fan is on.

Anyone know how difficult it is to install a new fan on a T60?
