FS: Sony Vaio S260 for parts or Whole

#1 Post by rssb » Fri May 04, 2007 10:00 am

Sony vaio VGN-S260 parts for sale or as a whole.

The working parts are:

13.3 Xbrite LCD screen, with complete housing and wireless antenna cables
1.7 PM 735 Dothan processor
intel BG 2200 wireless card
UJDA 755 DVD/CDRW combo
60GB HGST 7200 RPM hard disk
Li-Ion Battery , runs upto 4 hrs.

This might be working or not,
512MB Micro DIMM , PC 2700

Brand new Sony Recovery DVD's and connectors cables included , brought spare parts from sony.

The motherboard might have a problem, but it is available with bottom casing , if someone wants to trouble shoot it.

The unit powers on ocassionally ( i.e everything comes up including os and display on screen). But other times it just accesses cd rom, all leds light up. The LCD was tested with another unit and is working fine, which leads me to believe it might be the motherboard or RAM.

Upon google search, turned out that this problem is prevalent in sony models, any ideas or suggestions to troubleshoot are welcome.

Ebay feedback and pictures will be provided on request.

The problem with the unit is a lose memory slot, if pressure is applied from the bottom, the unit starts and stays like that.

It is only during power on, it has to be applied. Also one more observation is, if the unit has been running for a long time and is hot, there is no need to apply pressure. This might be because when the board it hot, it expands a little bit and is able to make contact when compared to cold.

Yup you are right, since I didnot get any response for 3 days after posting here. I listed it on ebay.

Someone from malayasia brought, but has not paid immediately, still waiting for the payment to clear.

Let me know if it falls through. I'd give you the BIN price for it.
