An aftermarket HS/Fan for T30?

#1 Post by Steel185 » Fri May 04, 2007 1:27 pm

found a DOA dell at a garage sell took a chance, has a 2.4ghz p4m. SO now I'm upgrading my 1.8ghz, is there an aftermarket Fan/HS? or is the fan2 the only option?

thanks

I have never heard of aftermarket fans for the internal fan on laptops. Just those USB notebook coolers.

I believe FAN2 is the only option for you.

There seems to be quite a few member on the forum that have had good success upgrading the P4M on their T30s by using a good grease like Artic Silver.

What Dell was it that you picked up at the garage sale?
Family Daily Drivers- T430s, T530, X220
Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP ProDesk SFF drone machines :(
Other Projects- Edge 15, Z61m (Titanium)
Historic Retired ThinkPads- T42p, X20, A31p, 701c, 760XD, WorkPad C505

I appreciate the help, I found on this board a post on the three different fans/hs and I ordered the 91P8908 which is suppose to be the one on the t30 with original 2.4ghz.

I found it on a Dell Latitude C640. I wasn't really a guess, the old owners had beat it pretty bad, cracked screen (still could read BIOS) and the Harddrive had gone out. None computer users thought it was junk or didn't try to piece it out, I got lucky. Hardest part was not to get excited at the $15 price when i saw the 2.4ghz pop up on the bios.
