T60P with OEM windows vista - standby issues

#1 Post by xcgames » Fri May 04, 2007 5:18 pm

Finally I got a hold of an OEM windows vista CD (not upgrade), used the express upgrade CD key from Microsoft and installed windows vista business on my T60P.... then problem follows.

1. After waking up from standby, the machine screen will not turn off (I usually shut the LCD off by using Fn+F3 key). The screen off key works when the machine is fresh from a restart, but will not work as long as it has entered standby mode before.

2. Ethernet disappears after standby. Wireless is there but the gigabit ethernet adapter is nowhere to be found, not even in the device manager. Again, restart fixes this problem.

Just wondering if there's any solution to these two issues, thanks all!

Did you install the various Lenovo drivers that are available for your machine?

Yep, latest drivers and utilities from lenovo are installed. Everything works just fine from a fresh restart, but not after re-opening the LID and get out of standby mode.

I have had problems with updates
and have spent 5 hrs. with microsoft
to fix. they said after all of that I need a copy of Vista.
After a call to Lenovo I will just start calling them NO-vo
you would think after 3 thousand plus they could send
copy of oem Vista business or offer to fix!!
