uprading an Intel2100 to an Atheros. Accon says its off.

I bet this is a common problem and that there is a solution to this somewhere in here. Maybe someone could help me find it.

I often run in to this problem when I upgrade a Wlan-card in a system. Typically if I change an Intel card to an Atheros, Access Connections does not work as it should. In this case when pressing Fn+F5, it says “turn on” although the antenna is already on. Same thing if I bring up access connections. It says its powered off, although its on and is accessible and configurable through the Microsoft wireless network connections tool.

Any idea to fix this is greatly appreciated.

I had miscellaneous connection problems in all of my Thinkpads until I got rid of Access Connections. Not had a problem since and I don't miss the multiple profiles.
