Z61t camera

#1 Post by Brillig » Fri May 04, 2007 9:00 pm

Hi there!

Where in sam hill is the software for the video camera? This came loaded w/ Vista, so maybe I'm missing something. I've got it to work with chat software, but my kid is trying to record with it, and it's not to be found.

Do you guys have any input?

Thanks,

Brillig

In XP there is a software called Scanner and Camera Wizard. In Vista I think its Scanners and Cameras Wizard :D This should work well. Here's a link to the MS help site.

The camera software that Lenovo provided is just a driver. To record video, You'll need to use Windows Movie Maker or a third-party program.

I found this :

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67209

"Windows Vista has no operating system-based applications or utilities to display images captured by the Integrated Camera - 3000 N100, V100 / ThinkPad Z61m, Z61p, Z61t"

"Microsoft Windows Movie Maker does not support the Integrated Camera"

I don´t know if its true , I installed Vista in a V100 Lenovo and installed the camera driver but I didn´t get it work with movie maker.

Any solution ?

Link provided by denisvj is right. Vista does not have integrated camera program. It just installed the driver.

You can however use it in many programs that require camera capture. One of the popular is Yahoo Messenger Web Cam.

Other is when you want to take a picture to your blog. Such as http://www.bloggersnap.com/. It come with the utility embedded in the browser (require flash player) to take a picture. If you want to test whether the camera is working or not you can try this.

Picasa is my software of choice for the Z61 camera. It takes great pictures and use can crop, email, and upload to a website with just a click-click. It is compatible with both Vista and XP.

If you want a truly simple webcam software then you should consider the free software from FWINK:

You do need a website to upload your pictures...but it is a very simple task to make it happen.

Good luck.
