Throughput of Ultrabay in Advanced Dock?

Does anyone know if the throughput of a device installed in the Ultrabay of the Advanced Dock would have a different throughput from a device installed in the Thinkpad's own bay? I am thinking of putting a HDD in there and installing an OS on it - would there be any slowdown? Can the Ultrabay in the Dock manage thoughputs as high as 65MB/s?

I get an average of ~20mb/s transferring data between the ultrabay HDD and the main HDD. Not sure how indicative that is of how an OS would run off the Ultrabay.

Both drives are 100GB 7200RPM SATA.

The interface between the Thinkpad and the Advanced Dock appears to be bandwidth limited to 34 MB/sec. See this thread:
