Weird Speaker Problem....please help me out

#1 Post by brikeh » Sun May 06, 2007 2:52 am

Hi!

Every now and then my left speaker goes nuts and the sound gets all distorted, if I pause whatever music I am listening to and then play the track again its fine! At first I thought it was my external speakers but this wasnt the case as it is happening without them plugged in too. :(

Could this be a software thing? I have only noticed this in Vista not in XP...then again I havent used XP since upgrading to Vista. Im really bummed out about this so if anyone knows how to further troubleshoot please let me know!! I really dont want to part with my T60, even for two weeks or whatever(for service)

Definitely Vista problem, but if in doubt get a Live CD of any Linux distro to prove it wrong.

See this
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

You really think so?? That would make me extremely happy if it wasnt a hardware problem.

I can dualboot with say...Ubuntu? No?

Thank you for your speedy reply!

As previous Vista users have reported the exact same problem so that is making me believe, it could be the reason.

You don't have to install Ubuntu, just boot it via Live CD option. Visit any music website, lets say yahoo music to see if the problem still persists.
