#1 Post by Silenceofdk » Mon May 07, 2007 10:36 am

Hey Guys,

I'm gonna buy this computer tomorrow:

Is there anything I should be worried about regarding the parts or anything? The parts and everything about it can be looked up at: Link to the computer on IBM's homepage

If u can't see it go to:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... yle=lenovo

Type: 2613 Serial: L3AX732

Thx in advance - The price is gonna be 2000€ with a 3 year bring-in warranty.

I don't think you should be worried about anything. The link is dead, as expected. You'll enjoy your thinkpad!

The serial number shows it only has warranty till 2008-05-10, contrary to what you said about 3 years warranty?

I know, I'll be buying the 3 year warranty on the side from a IBM business Dealer - Which puts the price up to around 2000€ - I'm thinking of buying a 3 year onsite though.. just unsure if it's worth the money.

A question about the laptop - Can i be that the computer does NOT have:
  • Wireless
    Bluethooth
    Integrated IBM Embedded Security Subsystem
    Integrated FingerPrint Reader
Or is it just because I don't know how to look properly?

It has wireless.

I think it does not have fingerprint reader.

It is blutooth capable.

Don't know about security subsystem.

Hey Mr. Silence,
Are you sure you can get warranty on this one? From the warranty page it seems that it is only covered in the US of A, Canada, Korea and Japan. I think it is a custom build machine. IBM in DK is very nice, btw.

I know, but I called IBm Denmark and they stated that the warranty was international so that it was covered by them in Denmark. The IBM further told me that addational warranty can be purchaed from IBM Business partners which the ppl I'm buying from are. :)

And indeed they are, they are just unreasonably expensive in Denmark which is why I'm gonna buy from germany.

What does a fingerprint reader list in the parts? And are security subsystems software based or hardware?
