ThinkVantage System Update Error

#1 Post by perkinqq » Mon May 07, 2007 11:31 am

Hello,

I was just wondering if some people have been encountering an unexpected error every time they try to trigger the Systems Update..

I specifically get this textbox message:

"ThinkVantage System Update has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Does anyone know how I should go about in fixing this?

Here

Hope it helps.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

here is a sure to work solution. in the control panel go to admin tools, in there go to services and find server, right click on that service and enable it, and set it to start automatically (delayed) if not already the case. Then run sysupdate again. This works, trust me I know.

You have to have server services running to use System Update 3. You achieve this by installing Microsoft's file and printer sharing services in Network Connections.
