Vista and Hibernation - an important tidbit of information

#1 Post by PanEuropean » Mon May 07, 2007 12:38 pm

Hello Everyone:

I recently installed Vista Business on my T42P and I have been reasonably happy with it. The computer runs well, and generally seems to be a bit faster than it was on XP, although perhaps this might be due to the recent 'clean' installation, rather than any improvements that came with Vista.

I was having difficulty finding out how to enable hibernation - it was not available as a choice from the ThinkVantage Power Management application - until I came across this article at the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -US;928897. I found that article by way of a link to it that appeared when I called up the "Help and Support" function from Vista, but the reference to it was buried a few screens deep into the explanation of troubleshooting hibernation.

Hope this information is of use to others.

I thought hibernate was easy to turn on, though sleep was gone from every menu until I had used the system for a few days... :?
