a30p wrong model number/serial number

#1 Post by green5178 » Mon May 07, 2007 4:17 pm

After sending in my a30p for a motherboard replacement last year, IBM repair returned it to me twice with the serial number/model number in BIOS incorrect.

I didnt bother sending it in a 3rd time since I needed my laptop.

Does anyone know how to fix it so Lenovo site will recognize the model for software down loads?

thanks

call tech support..
they will either give you a way to go into the bios and make that change or there is a CE diskette that has a utility to change the model # and s/n on the system board..
they might not want to give you the CE diskette..
hard to say..
