XP Tablet Restore Disks

#1 Post by proaudioguy » Tue May 08, 2007 9:25 pm

My friend is about to send his Vista X60 Tablet back because it's so much slower than his A31p (1.7GHz P4m). He is very unhappy. I told him if we could get him XP Tablet edition on there we could get it moving a lot better. Does anyone want to volunteer to run off some XP Tablet restore disks?

I'd like to try it as well as mine isn't relaly where I want it although I have uninstalled so many craplets it's running a lot better. I'm still not satisfied though, and my A31 (P4m 1.6) is still faster.

Can anyone help?

If we were to call Lenovo, who would we talk to and what would we tell them?

You got the machine recently, so you should be able to return it. Call them, tell them you want to return it, explain how Vista doesn't work for you, and you will re-order a different machine with XP. I'd be shocked if they don't help you out at that point - it's not in their interest to get your machine back. It is all volume licensing anyway, and it is not as though you'll be running XP and Vista.

I may have a legal solution to getting the XP Tablet software. I'll keep you guys posted and make the documents available once I've explored it.

...yeah, but ibm/lenovo are only liable to ship the software originally licensed to your product-- and they definitely will only ship that software, at least over here in europe.
tried getting an english xp for my german machine--impossible!!!
so i ordered an english machine, copied the hidden partition, returned the english machine, installed the english partition and off we go.

acronis true image does the job.

How about a review of that multi touch/ view screen. I went with the SXGA for the real estate, but really wanted MV MT.
