dead WiFi, ethernet connection, & PCMCIA

#1 Post by 40mtns » Thu May 10, 2007 10:05 pm

HELP!!! I have a T40.

1) Device Manager says PCMCIA "Failed"

2) The ethernet connection fails on startup with:
ERROR
Resource Conflict – PCI Network Controller on Motherboard
Bus:02, Device:01, Function:00

3) My 2200G WiFi fails on startup with:
ERROR
Resource Conflict – PCI Network Controller in slot 01
Bus:02, Device:02, Function:00

If I disable 2 & 3 in the BIOS by disabling "Internal Network" and "Wireless Card" everything boots just fine.

HELP!!! Is there something common that might be causing all 3 problems?

Thanks.

The solution may be as simple as uninstalling the drivers for those devices in the Windows Device Manager, enabling the devices again in the BIOS and then letting Windows rediscover the devices and load the drivers.

At the very least you should give that a try to eliminate simple driver issues.

Another thing to try is removing the wifi-card, and see if she starts then. Replacing this is cheap enough ($16-30)
