Differences between two T60 models and keyboard question

#1 Post by smartins » Fri May 11, 2007 3:44 am

Hello all.

I've been reading the forums for a while now since I'm considering a ThinkPad as my next laptop purchase to replace my current Asus.

I was originally going to purchase it locally but decided to way until the T61 was available. Well, I've now decided I'm probably better off getting one now as the T61 with 15.4" screen should take 1-2 months to appear.

I've went to euclid computers and noticed that I might get a better deal buying from them even taking in account the extra tax and customs fees I'll have to pay.

I have two questions to make though.

I can't seem to find the difference between these two models other the price difference (one is $1,791.00 and the other $2,029.00) and the Operating System and software installed.

Am I missing anything hardware related?

Finally, if I end up buying it from the US, I'll have to source a Portuguese keyboard. Anyone knows where should I try to buy it? Locally or straight from the US?
The part number can be either one of these depending on the maker: 39T7135, 39T7195 or 39T0975

The main hardware difference I see is in the gpu. Euclid Computers has a typo in their specification, they should've mentioned that 8744-JVU also comes with Intel 950 graphics card.

Buy from lenovo or check ebay for the keyboard, sorry I don't really know what else to suggest for that one.
