Restore XP from recovery partition after Vista install?

#1 Post by backfromMac » Mon May 14, 2007 6:58 am

Ok so I had to try it, I don't think Vista is ready for prime time yet, maybe after SP1. I still have my recovery partition with XP on it, but now I can't access it.

1. Do I need to install and run R&R4 for Vista
2. I know there are some programs that will restore the MBR, is there a way to do it with a USB key instead of a USB floppy. And do I run from Vista, the XP MBR restore or the Vista version.

Thanks,

Kevin

You have two options:

1. Install R&R under Vista and run the factory recovery or
2. Use your R&R Boot-Disc and start the recovery from there.
