Happy owner of a T41p, even with my beleaguered battery, it still runs for over 4 hours, with brightness turned all the way up.

What is interesting is the large proportion of "p" T4x's owned by this group.

I seriously doubt that 35% of the T4x's sold were "p" models!

True. However most of us are probably picking up second hand machines which might allow for a slightly wider product search. that and the price of p machines on the used market is of course cheaper than when they were new.

Still, I too am surprised at the large outpouring of 'p' machine owners here.

I just bought a 2374-3HU for my brother. I love the T4x design so much, from the curved bezel to the keyboards to the lid design (and how it latches with the base).

I've seen worse! 80 GB HS and a DVD burner are fine. Don't forget that IBM offered T40's with 1.3GHz cpu's and 40GB 4200 rpm drives!

I am still of the opinion that a 1.3GHz Pentium M is more than enough for business used. As long as it has 512MB of RAM and a 40GB HD Windows XP should be just fine. Not blazing fast, but completely useable (for business tasks).

What gator said...mine has 1GB of RAM and the DVD/CD-RW combo drive, but otherwise yours has the same specs as mine and I don't find them bad at all. :) a T4xp would be nice but I don't really need the higher resolution and the graphics card just yet.

I completely agree. A 1.3GHz may be worse than a 1.5GHz, but it's far better than an older generation machine. With XP, it's more than adequate for most routine computing. That's why they still fetch hundreds of dollars for a 3+ year old machine.

T43 - 1875-D6U 1.7 Ghz (Supplied by work)

Am I the only one with a T43 and Intel Integrated? I think I would prefer to have just about any other T4x. Not that this is a bad one, just wish I could swap the HDD for a faster one without all the hassle.

My 1.4Ghz X31 with a 7K60 runs circles around this T43!

T40's are great machines. Even stock they will run XP and most business apps just fine. Toss in some RAM, a Dothan 1.8, and a 7200RPM drive, and watch it really fly.

Ray (one of the mods) really likes the T2x series. I have the same love for the entire T4x series. I just wish I could own 20 of them.
