largest recommended Hard Drive for z60t and install

#1 Post by pschoggens » Thu May 17, 2007 11:19 pm

hi,

It is time to upgrade my hard drive as this one is getting full, but I have some questions.

what is the largest HD that is compatable with the Z60t, who makes the fastest, most reliable, and coolest HD and How do I install it since my laptop came with the OS pre-installed. say if that one you reccommended is the Lamborginnie of HD's then what would be the best buy on the better end of the scale?

I do not think there is room inside for a slave HD is there?

I have upgraded HD in my desktop so I am not totally green.

thanks in advance, I know there are some very smart people out there with a wealth of knowledge on these topics, I just need some of them to reply.

your z60t will take all sata 2.5" drives produced upto date.

as for cloning the harddrive, pls look at the faq

there is only one slot for the harddrive but, you can put a second harddrive inplace of the odd with an adapter, or you can pull the drive and use an external usb enclosure(cheaper. also you can go back and forth from desktop to TP).

Well i got a seagate 5,400rpm 160GB in my Z60t and it works perfect.

For cloning i use Acronis.

The are larger drives coming, but they are not quite here yet. A 7200RPM will give a nice performance boost.
