Another question on using Recovery Disks...

#1 Post by ellipse » Fri May 18, 2007 2:36 pm

Sorry to post another question on this topic, but even after reading a dozen related posts, the whole procedure of restoring the factory settings on a TP42 is not clear to me.

I used the recovery 7-cd set I made to reinstall everything back to square one. The procedure apparently worked, but now the computer keeps booting into the recovery partition, not into Windows.

What am I supposed to do now?

Thank you for your help,

ellipse

It doesn't sound like the procedure worked. Did it read all the disks? Did you change the HDD? In general, everything works better if you delete all the partitions on the HDD before starting.

Precisely... I had not done that on my first try, so there were six different partitions on the disk... I've just Partition Magic'ed everything and recovery works now. Thank you for your help!
