About UPS delivery
About UPS delivery
Ordered on 04/29 and it's finally shipped out on 05/16. But this morning I missed the UPS delivery. Called them to hold for pickup but was told I can't do that until they make the 3rd try.
I am confused because I'm sure this worked before. Has anybody experienced this? Was this because it's not domestic package?

Where is that coming from, Steve?gator wrote:That omment was uncalled for. Please follow the forum guidelines.steveg47 wrote:I have observed that brown is a very appropriate color for them.
Great, but there is a sticky thread upstairs, this kind of shipping info/questions are meant to be posted there.peahen wrote:Finally found out why. It's from Levono. They put such request to make sure the package is delivered to the right person.

? Actually, I kind of feel the same way about UPS after receiving many packages from them that appeared to have been not only dropped but backed over Just To Be Sure.gator wrote:That omment was uncalled for. Please follow the forum guidelines.

Whatever we feel about UPS, that comment was bad, IMHO ... I am sorry of I offended anyone.

Ray, that was really bad ... I have had one pacakge damaged by FedEx once, and I was not successfull to get a refund. The item was cheap, so I kinda let it go.rkawakami wrote:Sri, you should see one of my FedEx deliveries: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 881#215881
While I don't contest the fact that UPS/FedEx shipping is sometimes really bad, and people do get 'cheated' sometimes, I still feel that saying 'brown is a very appropriate color for them' is not the way to express dissent ...

My interpretation of Steve's comment is, UPS trademark of brown color is used as a metaphor towards a popular cuss word sh!t. Also, if he does not do any further explaining that comment can be implied towards "natives" and people of different origins with brown skin.

Actually, in my area UPS is the best. They have friendly drivers and everyone in town knows them by first name. I even have their cell phone numbers in case I have a hot package so I can meet them when they hit town and get my package early.
DHL is unremarkable and Fedex are package killers even if they do usually deliver a day early. USPS forgets to notify me that I have a package most of the time (P.O. Box).

rye, I am 100% sure he meant the former and not the latter.ryengineer wrote:My interpretation of Steve's comment is, UPS trademark of brown color is used as a metaphor towards a popular cuss word sh!t. ryengineer, anyone may interpret my comments anywhere their personal prejudices take them. I certainly do not owe anyone an explanation as my meaning should have been obvious (except possibly to the politically correct). However, in the interest of crystal clarity and the desire not to start a flame war which I absolutely will not participate in or respond to in any way, let me spell it out in words anyone cannot misinterpret: In my area UPS is rigid, unhelpful, uncooperative, incompetent, intolerable and dissembling. This is not opinion it is based on long experience dealing with them. Are we clear!!ryengineer wrote:My interpretation of Steve's comment is, UPS trademark of brown color is used as a metaphor towards a popular cuss word sh!t. Oh and on the subject of brown skin, excluding albinos, all human beings are some shade of brown, again fact not opinion, something the bigots of our world conveniently forget. Now you know where I stand on that subject too.
Anything else you would like to know about me or have me explain...my shoe size perhaps??
