Should I wait for X61 tablet?

I guess I have to sit down and go through every possible driver I might need for this thing to work in my office and make sure I can get drivers for all the devices before I order the x61t with 64bit Vista!

Or is that being too obsessive, and I should just get it and figure it out later?????

Nope. OS X can't recognize 4GB on Macbooks with the pre-Santa Rosa Chipset, and Linux can't recognize 4GB on the X60/s. Everything else you said may be true, but Intel designed its chipset around the 3GB limitation.

What are you using this lappy for that you need 4GB of ram? Even though it's got a C2D chip it's still not as fast as a regular desktop C2D chip. I was doing some crude benchmarking with 7zip and 32 vs 64 bit difference was negligible (with native x64/x86 app). C2D lappy is slower than C2D desktop even while lappy is plugged in.

Photoshop will be very happy to get the lion's share of 4G when running. X3100 graphics will help with running Vista and other misc graphics apps that might occasionally swirl the electrons around in the X61T. As for going 64-bit... well, I'll have the machine for 4 years so I figure I'll jump into the deep water.

Well, I pulled the trigger on an X60t today. Core 2 Duo, 80GB drive, SXGA+, Bluetooth, and 2GB of RAM (1GB from Newegg, 1 from Lenovo). I'm excited!

Too bad the UltraBase is so expensive.
