Dual Monitor Setup on a Netvista All in one desktop

#1 Post by fefrie » Sat May 19, 2007 3:30 pm

6643 22u model number Netvista all in one unit.

I purchased a 32 mb pci video card, and when I installed it on my all in one, I couldn't get it to work.

When I installed it, the video card would be the one getting a signal, the start up screen, then go into safe mode. At that point, in safe mode, I couldn't get the xp to recognize both video cards.

It never really happened for me. Since then I've taken out the video card and run on the built in monitor and given up my hopes on having a dual monitor setup.

Is there something else that I should try??

I don't know if this would work, but here's what I'd try...

I would get a dual-monitor video card. Then, I'd disable the built-in video either in your operating system or in the BIOS. Don't bother uninstalling it (via software) as it will just re-install itself on the next boot.

I'm not familiar with your particular system, but I'm guessing that you would not be able to use the built-in monitor. You'd need two additional ones.

I wouldn't suggest trying this. Bear in mind that he system wasn't really designed to add an additional video card to it. The power supply is also limited in how much wattage it can provide for this.
