I've been to several locked threads that cite duplicates. It would be nice if the locking mod could provide a link to the duplicate when they can.
I understand this isn't always easy, but it would nice to have when it is.

I can already tell you the answer to this one....
It is most likely not going to happen...atleast, I wouldn't. It takes a lot of time to keep crossing back to the original thread, just to copy the link to it. We are trying to pass through and read through as many threads as we can....and we aren't getting paid to do it, which means that most of us are working persons. I know for myself, I am reading through a lot on my lunch hour.
If there is a note indicating that it is a duplicate thread, then most people would be able to search for the current thread.
NOW, having said that....I have taken the time to link to a similar thread that might be a little outdated, or not easy to find.

Sometimes we're in a bit of a rush to go into great detail about some mod duties. If a post is locked and considered a duplicate look at the users profile for "all posts by that user" and locate the one the is still opne and you see what conference it is in. There's more than one way to skin a cat.
Sorry, but no. A better suggestion is that users read through the existing threads, stickies and FAQs before starting new ones. A very good example of this is the multiple duplicate threads that were started the day the T61s were announced. The briefest of scans through the forum would have turned up existing threads that could have been added to.
