no idea why it is so cheap, but his feedback is good, he seems legit and paypal has me covered for $500 so I went for it! :-)

Looks good, will it fit a T42P?

Just to put everyone's minds at ease, that's the correct mini-dock for the latest T series machines. Also works with older A, T and X series machines by sliding the rear cover forward and back.

Excellent price!

So if I was looking for a mini dock for a T40p, I should be searching for 287810U as well as 62P4551 on ebay?

TIA

Did you try it out with a KVM switch?

to follow up on the beginning of this thread, I just received my mini-dock from the guy on ebay, everything seems to work well. The power adapter is huge though.

That's because it's a higher wattage unit than the "normal" 72W units we're used to in order to provide sufficient current for the dock's slots and four USB ports.

What exactly is the difference between the mini-dock and the port replicator? Looks like you more USB ports through a hub (though the p-rep also has a passthrough), lock-and-key, and comes standard with a power supply? It's not like the full-sized dock that has a drive bay and PCI slot, right?
